Take a screenshot on your Galaxy phone or tablet to remember that moment you unlocked a new game level or that important document you were working on. Your screenshot-taking experience may vary slightly from device to device. In either case, storing images on your device is quick and simple.

It's important to remember that the screens and options available to you may change depending on your wireless service provider, your operating system version, and the specific device you're using. While in Secure Folder, the ability to take screenshots may be disabled.

You can take a screenshot on any Galaxy phone or tablet by following the same general procedure, which may vary slightly from model to model. You'll need to find the Power and Volume down buttons before you take one.

Most devices have the volume controls on the left and the power button (sometimes called the "Side key") on the right. However, the positions of the keys may be switched on some models. It's also possible that the keys are all on the same side.

To take a screenshot, press and hold the Volume-down button and the Power button (Side button) at the same time. When a screenshot is taken, the screen will flash briefly to let you know.

The Home button may be physical on some tablets. To take a screenshot, press and hold the Power and Home buttons at the same time.

Please be aware that not all Galaxy devices support this feature. Due to a technical limitation, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is unable to perform Palm swipe to capture. Alternatively, you can use the tablet's keys or the Air command menu to snap a picture. The Gallery app is where you'll be able to view and share your screenshot.

Hold on, there's a different way to snap a screenshot Palm swipe allows you to take a screenshot without having to physically press a button on some devices.

Palm swipe to capture can be enabled in the system preferences. Then, select Palm swipe to capture by toggling its associated switch. You can now capture a screenshot by gliding the edge of your hand across the display of your mobile device.

Taking a screenshot is as easy as giving a voice command with Bixby Voice or Google Assistant. If you tell Bixby, "Hey Bixby, take a screenshot," it will do just that. You can even use a string of commands, such as, "Hey Bixby, snap a pic and post it to Twitter." ”

You can take a screenshot with your Galaxy phone or tablet's S Pen if you use it frequently. Taking a screenshot is as simple as using the S Pen's Screen write function, no matter what app you're currently using.

Taking a screenshot with an S Pen is limited to devices that either have one preinstalled or are compatible with the S Pen Fold edition or S Pen Pro.

Start by locating the area of the screen you want to capture after removing the S Pen from your device. Touch the Air command menu icon with your S Pen, and then touch Screen write. The current page you're viewing will be captured as a screenshot by your device. If you want, you can use the controls to annotate the screenshot. To save the screenshot to Gallery, tap the Save button when you're done.

When taking a screenshot, you can also use your device's edge panel. The Tasks Edge panel and the Take screenshot shortcut are all that's needed.

  1. To access the menu, swipe left on the Edge panel's right-hand navigation bar.

  2. Select the Tasks tab by tapping its icon in the bottom-right corner after tapping the Settings button.

  3. Select Modify next to the menu The shortcuts you use most frequently will appear on the right; to add "Take screenshots," swipe to the left and tap the corresponding icon.

    Take screenshots may be added as a default shortcut, so keep that in mind.

  4. Additional shortcuts can be activated or deactivated as needed. Select the red minus sign to delete a quick launch.

    Please note that a maximum of 12 shortcuts can be added.

  5. The next step is to find the screen you want to record.  

  6. To access the Edge panel, swipe left on its tab. To access the Tasks panel, swipe left a second time.

  7. Then, select the Screenshot option. Taking a screenshot on your device captures the current screen. When you need to take a screenshot, just use this shortcut.

Is it possible to take a screenshot of the entire page? With scroll capture, you can take multiple screenshots of a single page and merge them into a single, comprehensive image. In this way, the big picture can be grasped. In addition, it is compatible with every other method of screen capture. That is to say, you can still access scroll capture whether you prefer to use the button combinations, palm swipe, or S Pen.  

  1. Find the part of the display you want to record

  3. Select the Scroll capture icon (it resembles a downward pointing arrow and will bounce up and down) from the Smart capture menu.

  5. Tap the icon repeatedly until it reaches the bottom of the page or the location you want.

  6. Use the hashtag icon in the Smart capture menu to label your screenshots.

  7. You can use the suggested tags or come up with your own. When you're finished, click the Save button.

  8. When you're done, you can dismiss the Smart capture window by tapping anywhere outside of it. You can view the screenshot by tapping the preview or going to Gallery.

You must be viewing a lengthy webpage, app screen, or image that requires scrolling before the smart capture icon will appear. Some websites might be incompatible. You can't disable Smart capture on most modern phones. Invariably enabled

Your screenshots will be accessible from the same location regardless of the device you're using. To view, go to Menu > Gallery. The screenshot notification can also be accessed from the Notifications panel, which can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen.

Swiping down from the top of the screen will reveal the Notifications menu, where you can quickly share your screenshot. Then, use the downward arrow on the screenshot alert. Select the Share button, and then choose how to distribute the screenshot.

Launch the Gallery app whenever you want to show it off. Go to the Albums menu, then choose Screenshots. Select the screenshot you wish to share by touching and holding it, and then selecting Share. Choose a sharing method from those provided.

In addition to the basics of taking a screenshot, there are a few things you can do to make it more unique.

Once you've captured a screenshot, a context menu will appear at the screen's bottom. To annotate a screenshot with text or drawings, or to remove parts of it that won't be immediately useful, choose Edit (the pencil icon). Gallery will store the trimmed version.
