Google Pay is an incredibly convenient application for sending and receiving money between individuals. However, every time you make a transaction, it stores its details such as UPI transaction ID, the sender and recipient’s UPI IDs, and a Google transaction ID. All transactions appear in the app’s "Show My Transaction" section. While it is easy to view the transaction history, deleting it seems to be a challenge. Unfortunately, the app does not currently offer a direct way to do so. But don't worry; we have found a way to successfully delete your transaction history. Keep reading to learn how.
How to Check Your Google Pay Transaction History
Your transaction history will not appear immediately upon opening the Google Pay app. If you can't find it, don’t worry – you may simply need to look in the right place. Follow the steps below:
1. Open your device and launch the Google Pay app.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
3. Look for the "Show transaction history" option.
4. Tap the ">" next to it to view your Google Pay transaction history.
5. From here, you can view both sent and received amounts, arranged by date of transaction.
6. Keep scrolling downwards to view your complete Google Pay transaction history.
How to Delete Your Google Pay Transaction History
Google Pay saves the details of every transaction made through the app, and as previously mentioned, there is currently no direct option to delete them. However, we have found an alternate method to delete the transaction history using Google Chrome. Follow the instructions below:
1. Open Google Chrome on your device.
2. Go to "www.google.com" and locate your Google Account.
3. Log in to your account using your Google credentials.
4. Click on the option sign (three horizontal lines) on the top left corner.
5. Select "Data and Privacy," and then select "History Settings."
6. Click on "Web and App Activity," and go to "Manage All web & app activity."
7. Tap on the option sign (three vertical lines) on the search bar.
8. Select "Other Google Activity," and go to the "Google Pay" section.
9. Under the "Google Pay" section, tap "Manage Activity."
10. Click on the "Delete" drop-down arrow to select the part of the transaction history you want to delete.
11. Select from "Last Hour," "Last Day," "Custom Range," and "All Time" based on your preference.
12. Click on "Delete" to proceed with deleting the transaction history.
Depending on your selection, the transaction history for the designated time period will be deleted. It typically takes around 12 hours for the status of the deleted history to refresh.
How to Delete Your Google Pay Transaction History in Mobile
It is possible to delete your Google Pay transaction history through your mobile device, but it cannot be done through the G Pay app. The steps required are the same as above; open the Google Chrome browser on your mobile device and follow the instructions outlined. Your transaction history will be deleted, and it will likely take about 12 hours for the status to refresh.

- Launch the Google Pay app on your mobile device.
- You will need to input your Google pin to access the app.
- Once inside the app, navigate to your profile photo located at the top-right corner.
- Click on the Close account button found within.
- Uninstall the app from your smartphone.
- After successfully closing your account, Google Pay will automatically unlink any bank accounts that were previously linked.
